Rockford Promise is thrilled to welcome Dr. Tasha Davis as our first paid Executive Director. Dr. Davis comes to our organization with a strong background in education, business and finance, and nonprofit management. And, as the Rockford Register Star puts it, “Rockford Promise’s new executive director exemplifies its mission”. We couldn’t agree more!
In the upcoming months, Dr. Davis looks forward to meeting with Rockford Promise students, donors, community mentors, supporters, and local leadership, and expanding the Rockford Promise to include increasing numbers of Rockford Public Schools District 205 students! Welcome, Dr. Davis!

What a day!
Today we hosted our fourth Promising Careers event—this time focused on Business.
Rockford Promise Scholars had the opportunity to visit several local organizations, ask thoughtful questions, make new connections, and learn how to strengthen their professional skills as they prepare for the workforce. Experiences like these help students begin to see the many pathways available to them right here in our community.
A huge thank you to our incredible host sites: Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce, Chartwell Agency, City of Rockford Government, Midland States Bank, and Furst Staffing. And, a special thank you to Gina Caronna – Marvin and The Workforce Connection for helping fund portions of this event.
We’re also grateful to the volunteers who invested their time and insight, including partners from Rockford Area SHRM and presenters Angela Kay Larson, Robert Blosser, Emily Hartzog, Carrie Hagerty, Shurice Hunter, Martesha Brown and team, Jennifer Furst and team!
When local leaders open their doors and share their experience, it makes a lasting difference for our Scholars.
This is what a talent pipeline looks like in action. … See MoreSee Less

Thank you to Alpine Kiwanis for naming Rockford Promise as one of their grantees this year!
Because of their investment, we’re hosting an Affording College Workshop this spring to help local RPS and partner school juniors and their families navigate the college and scholarship process with confidence.
For many of the families in our community access to this information can make all the difference.
We’re grateful to Alpine Kiwanis for helping make college more accessible for Rockford students 🧡 … See MoreSee Less
