New Year’s Day was spent volunteering at Flora Prairie Nature Preserve. Rockford Promise Executive Director, Dr. Tasha Davis, Rock Valley College Scholar Carla Peoples, and Rockford University Scholar Aldo Sapien started off the New Year being “green” by cutting out invasive plants to help conserve natural resources at the preserve. Rockford Promise and Boone County Conservation District started the New Year off building pathways for Rockford Promise scholars to earn opportunities for internships and mentoring in the Green Industry.
