Auburn High School Leads the Way |
For the first time, Auburn High School had the highest number of applicants, with 89 students applying. This shift is a remarkable milestone, showing growing awareness and enthusiasm for Rockford Promise at Auburn. Way to go, Knights! |
Welcoming Boylan Catholic High School |
This year also marked an exciting expansion for Rockford Promise. Boylan Catholic High School officially joined as a partner school, allowing Boylan graduates to apply for scholarships for the first time. Welcome, Titans! |
Rock Valley College Sees Growth, NIU Stays #1, Rockford University on the Rise |
This year, we received 124 applications for RVC, an almost 30% increase from last year. While this is exciting to see such high interest, RVC remains privately funded, and we are only able to provide a limited number of scholarships. Northern Illinois University continues to be the most popular choice for Rockford Promise applicants. This year, 221 students applied to attend NIU. Over the last five years, we have seen the largest overall percentage increase in the number of applications at Rockford University, up 65% since 2021. This year we received 55 applications. We attribute this to the increased opportunities for applicants in 2025, the high-quality education available here in Rockford, and the importance some students place on staying close to home while pursuing their degrees. |
