Promise grad drives bank donation
In August, Rockford Promise was thrilled to receive a donation from Blackhawk Bank and even more thrilled to learn why we received it.
Arely Ibarra-Ceniceros, an Auburn graduate, was part of the 2019-2020 Rock Valley College cohort. She graduated from RVC in 2021 with a 3.63 grade point average. So far, 21 of the 27 Scholars in that cohort have earned their RVC degrees and another student earned a two-year professional certificate.
Arely chose to use her RVC degree in the working world, joining Beloit, Wisconsin-based Blackhawk Bank, which has two branches in Rockford and another in Machesney Park. Each month, Blackhawk donates to a local charity from a pool of organizations nominated by its employees.
Arely nominated Rockford Promise and we were this month’s recipient of $610. Thank you Arely!
